Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments by interviewing clients about their mental, emotional, and behavioral health, with the aim of establishing a clear understanding of their needs.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that reflect a deep understanding of evidence-based practices and client-specific goals.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, adapting your approach based on the dynamics and needs of your clients.

• Monitor clients’ progress toward goals, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as conditions evolve.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care providers, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.

• Provide timely follow-ups for clients referred for more specialized care, ensuring seamless transitions throughout their mental health journey.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding the mental and behavioral challenges faced by clients, providing guidance and resources for effective support.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field is essential. A master’s degree or higher in a comparable discipline is preferred.

• Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida.

• Successful completion of relevant examinations, such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated prior experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing your ability to apply therapeutic techniques effectively.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) management systems, such as AVATAR, for accurate documentation and treatment tracking.

• Proficient knowledge of mental health diagnoses and treatments, particularly in the context of physical health conditions and substance use disorders.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey empathy, understanding, and professionalism in all interactions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in telehealth practices and virtual counseling is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.

• Understanding the effects and management of psychotropic medications as prescribed by medical professionals.

• A history of working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
