Work Environment\n

In this role, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative work environment specializing in geriatric psychiatry. Working remotely from your home in Los Angeles, California, you will have access to our state-of-the-art electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms, allowing for efficient and effective patient management. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments, specifically tailored to the unique needs of older adults, considering their cognitive and emotional states.

• Design and implement comprehensive treatment plans aimed at improving the overall quality of life of elderly patients.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including both individual and family therapy sessions, to address complex geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated care that addresses the multifaceted needs of our patients.

• Deliver crisis intervention services when needed, supporting patients and their families during mental health emergencies.

• Educate patients and their caregivers about mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources to empower and support them.

• Maintain accurate patient documentation, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards governing mental health practices.

• Engage actively in team meetings and case consultations, providing insights and sharing best practices to improve service delivery.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest research, treatment modalities, and advancements in geriatric mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on the geriatric population, offering mental health support to elderly individuals who may be facing a variety of challenges including, but not limited to, chronic illnesses, loss of independence, and complex psychological conditions. By tailoring treatments to meet their specific needs, you will contribute to enhancing their overall mental well-being and quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in the mental health field is preferred.

• A strong background in geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities specific to older adults.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the capacity to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with elderly patients and their families.

• Proficient in using EHR systems and other relevant technologies to manage patient care effectively.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and strong communication skills.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working directly with geriatric patients in a clinical setting.

• Familiarity with the complexities of dementia care and other cognitive disorders.

• Experience conducting family therapy sessions, focusing on a geriatric client base.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of $115,000 to $130,000 annually, alongside a comprehensive healthcare benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage.
