The law firm of Mirkin & Gordon provides legal services programs to members of labor unions in New York City and the greater New York area.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position located at our new office in New Hyde Park, NY.
The Legal Assistant/Paralegal will be responsible for providing assistance and support to the firm's attorneys, preparing and filing legal documents, responding to telephone calls, e-mails and other communications from clients, attorneys and courts in a timely and courteous manner, organizing and maintaining electronic and paper files, scheduling appointments and helping to maintain the firm's busy calendar. The position requires a high degree of organization, professionalism and care, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and timely.
Salary Range - $55,000 to $75,000 commensurate with experience
Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years prior experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal working in any of the following areas - civil litigation, landlord tenant, wills and estates, residential real estate or matrimonial and family law
- Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and multitasking abilities
- High attention to detail and ability to work within deadlines
- Proficiency in relevant office software and legal management tools; experience working with Clio case management applications a plus
- Knowledge of New York State Courts electronic filing system also a plus
