Maintenance AssistantKEY FOCUS & RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform work safelyDaily repair and maintenance of all plant equipment (production, administration, warehouse, etc.) as directed by Maintenance Mechanic.Support of any process improvement project workGenerate/complete maintenance work orders via CMMS platform (SAP)Understand production processes to identify and correct any inefficiencyWork towards becoming the technical expert for all production related equipmentSupport production activities to reduce downtime and increase efficiencyOffer suggestions for continuous process improvementsGood understanding of electric wiring and repairsExperienced in welding, grinding, parts fabrication, and machiningIntroductory knowledge of electrical, controls, instrumentationBasic computer skills including email, MS Office Suite/Google Suite, online applicationsSKILLS & ATTRIBUTE REQUIREMENTS:Strong attention to detail and ability to organize prioritiesStrong mechanical aptitudeMust be able to work well with others and follow directionsAbility to write and communicate clearly and effectively on work orders and safety improvement recommendationsMust maintain poise under pressureMust have basic math comprehension and problem solving skillsGood physical condition to support movement up 2-4 levels of operation (stairs, ladders, etc.)Ability to troubleshoot system performance related issues to solve basic problems and find a safe effective solutionMust be capable of reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, mechanical/electrical drawings and procedure manualsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or general education degree (GED)Three to five years of production maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.Welding/fabrication background preferredFork truck and JLG lift operation experience preferredAbility to work at heights exceeding 50 feetPhysical ability to safely operate motorized vehicles (forklift, scissor lift, aerial manlift)Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely throughout the work dayValid driver's licenseWORK ENVIRONMENT:Regularly works in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, and often works near moving mechanical parts, motorized equipmentDaily contact with high temperature materials and equipment conditionsCan be exposed to extreme heat/cold depending on the seasonThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
