Austin Oaks Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services to stabilize symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other behavioral health disorders.

Position Summary

Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) PRN, key responsibilities include but not limited to: responding to incoming calls to the hospital to accommodate coordination for referrals/admissions, providing assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status, ensuring all inquiries, referrals, and admissions are documented accurately in the computer system, ensuring all referral patient medical record information is completed and nursing and clinical staff are adequately apprised of the patient's condition/history, assessing, directing, and intervening in crisis situations, providing leadership and direction to mental health technicians, contributing to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team, and administering medication and medical treatment as prescribed by Physician.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse Job Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas (or licensed in a compact state), one-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred, CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications, ability to complete new hire requirements such as a nationwide background check and pre-employment drug screen, and State and Federal Office of the Inspector General check.
