Field Service Engineer

Salary: $62,100 - 85,300 per year Requirements:

• We require an associate degree in engineering technology or applied sciences from an ABET-accredited program.
• We prefer a bachelors degree in engineering or a related technical discipline such as mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or chemical engineering.
• For applicants with under four years of relevant experience, we require reasonable proximity to our Pittsburgh headquarters to support onboarding and initial training.
• We require fluency in English and the ability to prepare written reports in English summarizing findings and completed work.
• We require OSHA 10-Hour and NFPA 70E safety training, or the ability to obtain them.
• We require a valid drivers license and either a valid passport or the ability to obtain one.
• We require willingness and the ability to travel up to 80% of the time, primarily within the United States.
• We value prior field experience with industrial combustion systems, burners, furnaces, or other heat-processing equipment.
• We look for working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• We value the ability to calibrate instruments and analyze mechanical and electrical test data.
• We look for the ability to read technical manuals, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and similar documentation.
• We value familiarity with PID control systems, instrumentation, and PLC ladder logic troubleshooting.
• We seek strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• We value proficiency in Spanish and Microsoft Office applications.
• We look for the ability to work independently, adapt to changing field conditions, and grow in a technical field service setting.

• We commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize new, existing, and retrofitted industrial combustion systems across the United States and occasionally internationally.
• We investigate system-wide issues and perform root cause analysis on failed equipment.
• We review, adjust, and support PID loop programming in single- and multi-loop control systems.
• We use electronic test equipment such as multimeters, pressure and flow transmitters, and combustion analyzers to assess system performance.
• We work directly with plant operators, engineers, maintenance teams, and management.
• We recommend improvements that enhance performance, reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• We collaborate with our U.S.-based sales, engineering, project management, and service teams to solve technical issues and support projects.
• We prepare detailed service reports, timesheets, and technical documentation after each field assignment.
• We ensure compliance with our safety standards, customer site requirements, and applicable local regulations.
• We support commercial activities by identifying spare parts needs, gathering technical information for solution development and proposals, and relaying details related to warranty claims.
• We build and maintain strong customer relationships by professionally representing our company.
