Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform thorough mental health assessments via telehealth, taking into account the unique needs and histories of clients dealing with terminal illnesses.

• Design and execute individualized treatment plans that focus on emotional wellness, grief support, and coping strategies suited to the clients’ end-of-life journeys.

• Utilize evidence-based therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness approaches, to effectively address mental health concerns that surface in hospice care.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for clients to express their emotions, fears, and hopes as they approach death.

• Collaborate with health care teams, including physicians, nurses, and chaplains, to ensure a well-rounded support system and continuity of care across disciplines.

• Deliver crisis intervention support through secure virtual platforms, ready to provide immediate assistance for clients experiencing acute distress or suicidal ideation.

• Educate clients and families about mental health resources, community services, and coping mechanisms, empowering them through knowledge during difficult times.

• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all assessments, treatment processes, and case notes, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards governing online therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role will be on clients receiving hospice care, which may include patients with terminal illnesses such as cancer, end-stage organ disease, neurodegenerative disorders, and individuals in need of palliative mental health support. These clients often face complex emotional challenges, including existential distress, family dynamics, and anticipatory grief, requiring a skilled and sensitive approach.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State.

• A minimum of two years post-licensure experience, ideally within a mental health or hospice setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
