About the Job The Sexual Misconduct Prevention Program (SMPP) seeks a full-time Prevention Coordinator focused on the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive prevention programs for students. Following a public health approach, the person in this role will work collaboratively with campus partners to lead SMPP's prevention efforts within the fraternity and sorority community, athletics, LGBTQIA+ student communities, and other identified high-risk populations. While this role is mainly focused on prevention on the Twin Cities campus, the person hired will also support the Associate Director in expanding student programmatic efforts systemwide. This position will report to the Associate Director. Please note, this position is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship. This position does not offer a STEM OPT training program. Location and work environment: Hybrid, some days in the office and some remote Work schedule: 40 hours/week with occasional evening/weekend hours Primary Responsibilities Program Planning, Management, and Evaluation (65%) Lead planning and management of prevention programs within the Fraternity and Sorority Community (Prevention Advocates and Event Monitor Training) including developing meeting plans and content, facilitating meetings and trainings, recruiting and communicating about the programs, supporting and responding to the needs of peer educators, establishing systems and practices to support the long-term sustainability of the program Coordinate and facilitate prevention programming within Athletics, including training for first-year student-athletes, annual team-based prevention training, and the peer-education program Athletes Supporting Advocacy and Prevention (A.S.A.P.) Establish prevention programs and strategies focused on promoting healthy relationships among LGBTQIA+ student communities Develop and update prevention programming content aligned with program goals and tailored for specific student populations Under the direction of the Associate Director, evaluate prevention programs and utilize data to inform continuous program improvement Support Associate Director in identifying and pursuing additional opportunities to embed prevention efforts within student communities on the Twin Cities campus and systemwide. Assist with administration of required online sexual violence prevention training for all incoming students Performs other duties as assigned Community and Partner Engagement (20%) Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with student and staff community partners to develop and sustain comprehensive prevention programs and strategies following a public health approach Proactively communicate with student and staff community partners and stakeholders about SMPP's student-focused prevention work and its impacts Participate on relevant committees and workgroups to provide critical information and perspectives on student sexual misconduct prevention Student Staff Supervision, Training, and Support (15%) Supervise SMPP student staff, including Prevention Advocate Leaders Manage recruitment, hiring, training, ongoing support and evaluation of student staff. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public health, sociology, gender studies, psychology or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience to total 4 years At least one year of experience with sexual misconduct prevention Knowledge of and commitment to utilizing a public health and anti-oppression approach to sexual misconduct prevention Adept at facilitating nuanced and difficult group conversations in a trauma-informed way Proven ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and deliver results in a timely manner Willingness and excitement to try new prevention strategies and innovate, while evaluating for impact Ability and desire to build partnerships and work collaboratively with diverse communities Demonstrated experience in, and an ongoing commitment to, working effectively with and across diverse communities Applies knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with emphasis typically on precision and timeliness of execution Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in public health, sociology, gender studies, psychology or a related field Experience working with college students or in a higher education setting Experience with evaluation and use of qualitative and quantitative data to guide programming Experience leading peer-educators and/or supervising student staff About the Department The Sexual Misconduct Prevention Program (SMPP) develops, coordinates, and evaluates sexual misconduct prevention and response for students, staff, and faculty systemwide using evidence-based and data-driven strategies. Using a public health and anti-oppression approach, we work in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders to institutionalize community- and systems-level policies, procedures, and programming that reduces sexual misconduct and increases equitable access to support.
