Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to accurately evaluate and identify the severity and impact of mood disorder symptoms in students and other clients.

• Collaborate with students and their families to develop tailored, individualized treatment plans that reflect personal goals, preferences, and specific issues.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in one-on-one and group therapy settings.

• Provide psychoeducation to clients and families regarding mood disorders, outlining treatment options, therapeutic processes, and effective self-care strategies.

• Regularly monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on outcomes and feedback from clients.

• Engage in frequent collaboration with educators, school staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.

• Stay well-informed about ongoing research and best practices in mood disorder treatment to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of all therapeutic sessions, assessments, and treatment plans while adhering to legal and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary clientele will comprise students dealing with mood disorders, including depression and anxiety. Counselors will be expected to work empathetically with diverse populations, accommodating various backgrounds and life experiences. Qualifications\n

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Washington.

• Minimum of three years of post-licensure clinical experience focused on mood disorders or related mental health challenges.

• Strong expertise in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including CBT and DBT, tailored for youth.

• Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to build rapport and trust with diverse clients and their families.

• A thorough understanding of psychopharmacology, allowing for effective collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers.
