About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Internal Audit Officer to lead the oversight of its third line of defense, Internal Audit. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and implementing a risk-based audit plan in accordance with industry guidelines to assess, report on, and make recommendations for enhancing the company's key operational, compliance, and financial activities, as well as internal controls. This role requires the management of all aspects of the company's internal audit policies, practices, and programs, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and values. The Chief Internal Audit Officer will also be accountable for the development and coordination of internal auditing activities, advising top management and the Audit Committee on audit and internal control matters, and acting as a liaison with federal regulators as necessary. Candidates for this position should have a BS degree in accounting, financial management, or business administration, with an MBA preferred. Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, and/or Certified Information Systems Auditor are also preferred. A minimum of 10 years' experience in a banking or financial services environment, with a focus on internal audit, risk management, compliance, and/or loan review, is required, along with a proven track record of effective team management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, technical, communication, and management skills, and demonstrate the ability to influence, negotiate, and maintain independence in thought and action. Proficiency in technology and technology audit techniques, including data analytics and artificial intelligence, is essential.
