Senior HHS Consultant

Role Description

As the Health and Human Services Senior Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in leading teams and managing projects aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of health and human services programs. This position will be part-time and remote as a long-term contract role.

What You’ll Do

  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of consultants and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and expertise.
    • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members are aligned with project goals and timelines.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of multiple consulting engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality services and solutions are provided to clients.
  • Program Analysis and Evaluation:
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of health and human services programs to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
    • Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate program effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Develop and implement evaluation frameworks and tools to measure program outcomes.
  • Policy Development and Implementation:
    • Research and analyze current policies and regulations affecting health and human services.
    • Lead the development of policy recommendations and strategic plans to enhance service delivery.
    • Support the implementation of new policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including government officials, community organizations, and service providers, to gather insights and build consensus.
    • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and meetings to discuss program goals, challenges, and solutions.
    • Provide technical assistance and training to stakeholders on best practices and innovative approaches.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging practices, and technological advancements in health and human services.
    • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within programs and processes.
    • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues and clients to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Public Administration, or other related social sciences field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in health and human services consulting, program evaluation, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams, managing projects, and delivering results in a consulting environment.
  • Proven track record of policy analysis, program development, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SPSS, or similar programs.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
  • Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person.
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

Working Conditions

  • This position may require occasional travel to client sites and stakeholder meetings.
  • The Senior Consultant may work in an office setting or remotely, depending on client needs and project requirements.
  • The role may involve working to meet challenging project deadlines and deliverables.
