Role Description
As the Health and Human Services Senior Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in leading teams and managing projects aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of health and human services programs. This position will be part-time and remote as a long-term contract role.
What You’ll Do
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of consultants and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and expertise.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members are aligned with project goals and timelines.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of multiple consulting engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality services and solutions are provided to clients.
- Program Analysis and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of health and human services programs to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate program effectiveness and efficiency.
- Develop and implement evaluation frameworks and tools to measure program outcomes.
- Policy Development and Implementation:
- Research and analyze current policies and regulations affecting health and human services.
- Lead the development of policy recommendations and strategic plans to enhance service delivery.
- Support the implementation of new policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including government officials, community organizations, and service providers, to gather insights and build consensus.
- Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and meetings to discuss program goals, challenges, and solutions.
- Provide technical assistance and training to stakeholders on best practices and innovative approaches.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging practices, and technological advancements in health and human services.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within programs and processes.
- Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues and clients to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Public Administration, or other related social sciences field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in health and human services consulting, program evaluation, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams, managing projects, and delivering results in a consulting environment.
- Proven track record of policy analysis, program development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
Requirements
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SPSS, or similar programs.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
- Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person.
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Working Conditions
- This position may require occasional travel to client sites and stakeholder meetings.
- The Senior Consultant may work in an office setting or remotely, depending on client needs and project requirements.
- The role may involve working to meet challenging project deadlines and deliverables.
