Job Summary:

The Vice President - 504 Lending (VP) provides leadership, management and vision necessary for the MCDC 504 loan officers and Loan Processors to develop new SBA 504 loan opportunities. VP provides operational guidance and marketing assistance to the loan officers to provide for a consistent flow of referrals; advises loan officers on structure, underwriting and the closing of SBA 504 loans; assists the VP – Operations in maintaining the flow of loans through the underwriting and closing process. VP may also maintain and service a territory, performing the duties of a 504 Loan Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide day-to-day leadership and management that reflects the adopted mission and core values of the company.
2. Responsible for ensuring the lending team follows the required processes with the SBA.
3. Conducts research, compiles data, and provides recommendations to support decision‑making.
4. Collaborates with the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
5. Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the objectives of the organization.
6. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
7. Represent the company with vendors, clients and referral partners.
8. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of programs/strategies and regulatory action.
9. Spearheads the development and implementation of a marketing strategy. Acts as lead client-care officer for the organization through direct contact with referral partners and customers when appropriate.
10. Keeps abreast of 504 and SBA program changes and follows procedures as appropriate.
11. Manages employees providing coaching, development, training, selection, motivation and performance management.
12. Reviews work quality, assigns tasks, and ensures alignment with organizational priorities.
13. Provide continued professional development and shared learning opportunities for MCDC staff to develop and maintain operations at peak effectiveness.
14. Maintain regular and open communications between MCDC President and staff.
15. Nurture existing and create new relationships with various partners to MCDC.
16. Creates and conducts industry-related training both internally and externally.
17. Prepares and presents to the Board of Directors as needed.
18. Schedule, coordinate, and plan events such as the MCDC SBA Conference, MCDC Lender Appreciation Golf Outing, and March Madness mixers.
19. Participate in weekly and bi-weekly closing/funding and loan pipeline meetings.
20. Prepare and deliver presentations to small and large groups.
21. Monitor the SBA Lender Portal and refer prospects to the appropriate source/person.
22. Regularly attend events, conferences, and meetings in each loan officer territory throughout the year.

Job Requirements:

Education : Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance or equivalent combination of education/experience preferred.

Certifications/Licenses: Valid Driver's License.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Training and Experience : Minimum of 8 years of prior SBA experience, commercial lending, financial analysis or portfolio management experience required. Minimum of 5 years of prior management/supervisory experience. Extraordinary attention to detail, organization and problem-solving abilities. Must be able to obtain clearance from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Successful completion of in-house training program. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and autonomously with little guidance. Displays the confidence and competence to gain/maintain MCDC's credibility. Takes initiative to learn, develop oneself and see things through from start to finish. Proven interpersonal communication and computer skills; ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, etc.

Essential Physical Requirements: The physical demands are typical of an office environment and also includes the ability to travel.

1. Ability to converse verbally and in writing with others.
2. Ability to utilize general office equipment, Internet and various business software programs (i.e. MS office).
3. Ability to work flexible days/hours as needed.
4. Onsite work in MCDC headquarters as required, with hybrid-remote flexibility.
5. Ability to travel within the community to attend various events, conferences and meetings with occasional overnight travel.
