Contract | Days | 3 × 12-hour shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care on a cardiac-focused PCU/Step Down unit, managing a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
• Independently interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry monitoring; must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt using calipers — no remediation permitted
• Administer and titrate common cardiac drips including insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, Lasix, and nitroglycerin
• Care for complex cardiac patient populations including heart failure, A-Fib, VTach, VFib, STEMI/NSTEMI, LVAD patients, and heart transplant patients
• Assist with and provide post-procedural care for cardiac procedures including heart catheterizations, sheath removal, TR band management, cardioversions, ablations, pacemakers, ICDs, and groin site management
• Float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed; travelers are not eligible for the Cardiac Monitor Tech float role

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Georgia or compact eligibility
• Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit (PCU/Step Down or equivalent) experience
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac drips: insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, Lasix, and nitroglycerin
• Proven telemetry interpretation skills and prior successful completion of a telemetry/dysrhythmia exam
• Chest tube experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must achieve a rating of "4" on all cardiac skills on the skills checklist

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Heart transplant experience (training may be available)
• LVAD experience (training may be available)
• Experience with high-volume procedural cardiac units including STEMI/NSTEMI, valve replacement, and stent placement care
• Comfort managing frequent admissions, discharges, and high patient acuity in a fast-paced environment
