Work Environment

Situated in the vibrant community of North Port, our clinic offers a warm and welcoming environment for both patients and staff. You will work primarily onsite at our outpatient facility, where you can create meaningful connections with your patients, enjoy a structured schedule from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and benefit from the flexibility to manage your patient caseload in a way that best suits your expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to assess physical capabilities, mobility, and specific healthcare needs, followed by developing effective, individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver hands-on therapy and rehabilitation services, utilizing a variety of techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and specialized modalities tailored to geriatric patients.
• Regularly monitor and document patient progress, modifying treatment strategies as necessary to ensure optimal recovery and enhancement of physical function.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team— including doctors, occupational therapists, and speech therapists—to provide integrated care that addresses all aspects of patient health.
• Educate patients and their families about therapeutic methods, home exercise protocols, and fall prevention strategies to ensure continuity of care beyond the clinic.
• Implement safety measures and fall prevention programs within our community, contributing to a safe environment for patients residing in assisted living facilities.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in physical therapy through continuous education, actively seeking opportunities to enhance your professional skills and knowledge.
• Adhere to all ethical and professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring the highest level of care is provided to every patient.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on elderly patients, many of whom may be dealing with multiple chronic conditions, mobility issues, or recovering from surgeries. You will play a critical role in enhancing their functional independence, therapeutic engagement, and emotional well-being through tailored interventions.

Qualifications

• Possession of an active State licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• A degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate). New graduates are welcome to apply, though experience with older adults is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities to effectively liaise with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and familiarity with documentation best practices.
• A strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic practices and the capacity to implement innovative treatments.
• Commitment to patient-centered care, focusing on enhancing quality of life and promoting independence.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working specifically with geriatric populations is preferred, allowing for nuanced understanding of their unique health challenges and therapy needs.
• Familiarity with geriatric-specific assessments and interventions, as well as community resources to support patient integration and independence.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between USD 100,000 and 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
