Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess clients’ needs and document detailed case histories from initial consultation through the entirety of treatment.
\n
• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health status, establishing a comprehensive understanding of their unique challenges.
\n
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized intervention and recovery plans tailored for individuals, couples, families, and therapy groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to encourage open dialogue and personal growth.
\n
• Monitor clients' progress against established treatment goals, adjusting therapeutic approaches as necessary to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health specialists, to ensure cohesive care.

• Provide follow-up communication with clients’ referring physicians and other healthcare providers regarding any necessary inpatient care or ongoing treatment strategies.

• Actively identify and intervene in behaviors that may hinder clients’ recovery, providing supportive strategies to both clients and their families when needed.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) in the state of Illinois.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities, demonstrating empathy and understanding.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous clinical experience as a mental health counselor within an outpatient setting is highly desired.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to streamline documentation and service delivery.

• Experience in addressing a spectrum of emotional and physical health conditions including addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with best practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is advantageous.

• Comprehensive knowledge of psychotropic medications and their implications on clinical treatment.
