What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality patient care on the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including cardiac status and post-transplant patients
• Manage and document care using EMR systems (Meditech Expanse)
• Assist with IV placements, blood draws, and wound care as directed
• Support cardiac patient needs, including reading cardiac strips after passing EKG competency
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, PT, ST, and hospitalist staff
• Float to other units within scope of practice as needed
• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience; first-time travelers require 2 years
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam
• Strong clinical skills in Med/Surg and Telemetry
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

About the Assignment
Join a comprehensive care team in a well-established hospital with 325 licensed beds. The Med/Surg/Telemetry unit handles diverse cases including transplant, CHF, COPD, and other acute diagnoses. Receive orientation tailored to your experience, with support from dedicated staff including charge nurses, resource nurses, and specialists. Expect a schedule of every other weekend, working 4 days one week and 3 days the next, with opportunities to request time off within the contract terms. The unit emphasizes patient safety, quality care, and professional development.
