Shift: 12H Night Shift

Hours/Week: Varies (4 days one week, 3 days next)

Employment Type: Hospital Contract

Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Experience: Minimum 1 year in acute care (First-time travelers require 2 years of perm staff RN experience)

Hourly Rate: $48.24

What You'll Do:

• Provide nursing care to patients in the telemetry and transplant units with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, and altered mental status
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, including reading cardiac strips after passing an EKG competency exam
• Administer medications including cardiac drips (no titration) and wound care as directed by WOCNs
• Support patient assessments, reports, and documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team including RT, OT, PT, and hospitalist staff
• Assist with blood draws, IV initiation, and support on the unit as needed
• Float across units within scope of practice, with unit support from charge nurses and resource staff

What You Need:

Required:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible compact state
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam and demonstrate cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (2 years if first-time traveler)

Preferred:

• Experience with telemetry, transplant, or med-surg units
• Ability to work independently with strong communication skills
