Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical capabilities to determine the most effective treatment plans.
• Implement treatment strategies developed by Physical Therapists to improve patients' strength, mobility, and overall functionality, using evidence-based practices.
• Administer hands-on manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises to treat a diverse range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated patient care that enhances recovery outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, effective use of adaptive equipment, and strategies for preventing further injuries.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment interventions, and discharge planning in line with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Engage proactively in continuous professional development through in-service training and opportunities for advanced certifications relevant to orthopedic physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on working with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and various musculoskeletal conditions. You will interact with a diverse patient population, including children and adults, tailoring treatment approaches to ensure the highest levels of care and empathy. Your contributions will be vital to improving patient recovery trajectories and enhancing their quality of life.

Qualifications

• An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from a CAPTE-accredited program.
• A valid California PTA license is required.
• Demonstrated competence in clinical assessment and treatment execution, coupled with an understanding of orthopedic principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an orthopedic setting is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
