Work Environment

This position will require you to work onsite, providing hands-on support to patients in their homes. Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in evaluating and assessing patients' physical conditions with a focus on dignity and respect.

• Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises and activities, providing motivation and encouragement to enhance their recovery process.
• Apply various therapeutic modalities including heat, cold, and electrical stimulation while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
• Educate patients and their families on proper exercise techniques and daily activities, fostering independence and confidence.
• Monitor patient progress meticulously and document outcomes to track effectiveness and necessary adjustments in treatment.
• Coordinate patient care by effectively communicating with other healthcare professionals, ensuring a cohesive approach to recovery.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date patient records, adhering to best practices for documentation and data management.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, injuries, chronic conditions, and postoperative rehabilitation. By working closely with each patient, you will tailor your approach to meet their specific rehabilitation goals and functional needs, making a meaningful difference in their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a physical therapy setting, demonstrating knowledge of therapy principles and practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on empathy and patient-centered care.
