About Zuma Nutrition
\nZuma Nutrition makes whole-plant herbal supplements built around protocols: targeted cleanses that start a customer's journey and daily formulas that carry it forward. Since 2019 we've grown into a brand carried by 120+ independent health food stores, co-ops and practitioners, alongside a strong direct-to-consumer business. Every product ships with a Certificate of Analysis, and our retail partners know us for hands-on staff education.
\n \nSome of our accounts carry the full Zuma Nutrition line and become true brand advocates. Our goal is to build many more of those relationships, and wholesale is now our primary growth channel.
\n \nThe role
\nWe're hiring our first Director of Sales to own wholesale revenue and build the team that grows it. You'll take a proven, profitable channel and turn it into a repeatable sales engine: hire and lead a team of four territory reps, set the playbook, and personally open and grow key accounts. Our CEO stays close to the work, leading retailer staff trainings and joining key store visits, so you'll have a true partner in the field.
\n \nWhat you'll do
\n• Own the wholesale revenue plan: annual and quarterly targets, territory design, forecasting and pipeline health
\n• Recruit, onboard and coach four new territory reps and manage our existing rep, building a team of experienced closers
\n• Build the sales playbook: prospecting cadence, sampling, opening orders, reorder follow-up and full-line expansion
\n• Personally manage and grow top accounts, regional chains and co-ops
\n• Lead distributor and marketplace strategy (including our Faire and distributor accounts) and decide where direct-to-store selling beats distribution
\n• Coordinate retailer staff trainings, demos and in-store education with the CEO
\n• Keep our wholesale CRM clean and use AI tools (we use Claude) to automate reporting, follow-ups and account research
\n• Represent Zuma Nutrition at trade shows and regional natural-products events
\n \nHow we'll measure success
\n• Active accounts grown from 120+ to a target set together in your first 90 days
\n• Reorder rate and revenue per account
\n• Number of accounts carrying the full line
\n• Rep team hired, ramped and hitting quota within your first year
\n• Wholesale revenue and gross margin against plan
\n \nWhat you bring
\n• 7+ years of sales experience in natural products or supplements, including 3+ years leading reps or brokers
\n• Existing relationships with independent health food stores, co-ops and natural-channel buyers
\n• A track record of building a sales team or territory from early stage
\n• Fluency in wholesale economics: margin, MSRP, promos, distributor fees and reorder velocity
\n• A disciplined CRM and forecasting habit, and comfort with Shopify and AI tools
\n• Genuine passion for herbalism and whole-food nutrition. You'll be teaching store staff why our products work.
\n \nNice to have: practitioner-channel experience; relationships with natural distributors; experience at a founder-led brand under $20M in revenue.
\n \nCompensation and perks

\n• Performance bonus up to 25% of base, tied to wholesale revenue and gross margin
