This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising businesses, private equity sponsors, and other organizations on sophisticated employee benefits, executive compensation, and ERISA matters. Ideal Background
- 5+ years of employee benefits, executive compensation, ERISA, or related tax experience
- Experience reviewing employee benefit plans, compensation arrangements, and executive compensation programs in connection with mergers & acquisitions transactions
- Experience designing, implementing, and advising on employee benefit and executive compensation programs for businesses and organizations of varying sizes and structures
- Experience advising clients on qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, deferred compensation arrangements, equity compensation plans, and executive compensation matters
- Experience with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and related employee benefits regulations
- Experience supporting corporate transactions, including due diligence, transaction structuring, and post-closing integration matters
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work directly with clients and provide practical, business-focused advice
- Excellent academic credentials
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
- Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted
