Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• You will develop and implement tailored physical therapy interventions focused on preventing disability, alleviating pain, and restoring optimal muscle function, always aligning with the prescribed treatment plans.
• Evaluate clients' physical abilities through various tests assessing muscle strength, nerve function, and joint integrity to determine appropriate therapeutic approaches.
• Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants, ensuring compliance with the outlined care plans and enhancing the quality of service provided to clients.
• Assess individual home environments to identify necessary adaptations that promote independence and successful rehabilitation.
• Provide on-site therapy sessions to patients as prescribed by referring physicians, utilizing various treatment modalities including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and the application of physical agents.
• Document progress through comprehensive clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries, which support informed clinical decisions.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights into patient care strategies and collaborating with other professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Engage with clients and their families, offering education and guidance regarding therapy procedures, home exercises, and equipment use.
• Maintain a positive and professional environment, acting as an advocate for patient care and ensuring adherence to regulatory practices within the physical therapy scope.
• Complete all administrative duties, including timely submission of clinical and payroll documentation in accordance with organizational policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse range of orthopedic patients, including those recovering from surgery, injury, or dealing with chronic pain. Your expertise will be crucial in devising rehabilitation strategies aimed at improving patient mobility, strength, and overall functional capabilities. Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
• One (1) year of experience as a Physical Therapist, preferably in acute care or home care settings.
• Current, valid PT licensure in New York state.
• Certification in CPR.
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance for patient home visits.
• Strong communication skills to engage effectively with patients and families, along with a teamwork-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in relevant federal and state regulations pertaining to physical therapy practices.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation.
• Experience in educating patients on home exercise programs and rehabilitation techniques for autonomous recovery.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer an attractive salary range of USD 90,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and credentials.
