Work Environment

The position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in Syracuse, New York. The facility is designed to provide a welcoming atmosphere for patients undergoing physical therapy. As part of a team including two physical therapists and a physical therapy assistant, you will thrive in an environment that values teamwork, integrity, and compassion. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, offering a balanced schedule for professionals seeking to make a significant impact in the lives of their patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of new patients to ascertain their goals, needs, and physical limitations.
• Maintain a manageable patient load, averaging one patient per hour, allowing you to provide personalized attention and care.
• Develop and implement customized treatment plans utilizing diverse therapeutic methods, incorporating a range of interventions from manual therapy to exercise prescription.
• Utilize tools such as EMR software, specifically WebPT, for efficient patient management and documentation.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment options, injury prevention, and post-treatment care to foster understanding and compliance.
• Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment protocols as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate care and share insights on developing treatment approaches.
• Motivate and support patients throughout their rehabilitation journey to maximize their rehabilitation and recovery potential.
• Advocately reduce the reliance on medications by promoting physical therapy and non-surgical interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on orthopedic patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, and chronic pain conditions. The center sees a diverse patient demographic, primarily those with private health insurance, eager to reclaim their mobility and functional abilities. With a goal-oriented approach, our therapies are tailored to address a wide range of orthopedic issues, from sports injuries to post-operative rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Eligibility includes a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• A valid Physical Therapist license in the state of New York.
• No disciplinary actions or board issues associated with your license.
• Possession of strong manual therapy skills and a solid foundation in orthopedic rehabilitation techniques.
• Experience with EMR software, particularly proficient with WebPT, for streamlining administrative tasks and enhancing clinical documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic outpatient care settings is highly desirable.
• Proven record in developing personalized exercise regimens tailored to individual patient needs.
• Willingness to stay updated with current best practices in physical therapy through continuing education.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
