Senior Accountant

Location: Nashville, TN (Onsite)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 + 5% Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

We are partnering with a highly respected real estate investment firm to identify a Senior Accountant for its Nashville office. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build a long-term career in commercial real estate. Prior real estate accounting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting and month-end close activities
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Monitor loan covenant compliance
• Oversee accounts payable and assist with cash management
• Process real estate tax payments
• Maintain lease accounting and perform CAM reconciliations
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for assigned properties
• Manage accounting for approximately 4–5 real estate assets
• Partner with Property Managers, Community Managers, Asset Managers, and Operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 2–5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and professional skepticism
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred

• Public accounting experience
• CPA or CPA-track
• Experience with Yardi ERP
• Real estate accounting experience
• Construction accounting experience
• Multifamily property accounting experience
