Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide timely short-term crisis counseling for non-violent individuals facing mental health episodes, ensuring they receive appropriate support and care.

• Engage collaboratively with law enforcement personnel in responding to mental health-related incidents, assisting in the evaluation and decision-making processes at the scene.
\n
• Offer training and guidance to police staff on effectively managing mental health crises with arrestees, emphasizing de-escalation techniques and minimizing the likelihood of forceful intervention.
\n
• Facilitate case management by liaising with external entities such as the Department of Mental Health, psychiatric facilities, and pertinent community organizations while monitoring patient progress.
\n
• Maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy in documenting patient information, managing case notes that comply with regulations and organizational policies.
\n
• Communicate clearly and effectively with law enforcement, crisis stabilization units, hospital staff, and psychiatrists to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.

• Assist police officers in conducting field psychiatric evaluations to assess the necessity of 5150/5585 applications for involuntary psychiatric detention when warranted.
\n

This role primarily serves adult clients who may be experiencing acute mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and trauma-related conditions. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is mandatory.
