Position Overview
A refined, quality-driven fine dining culinary operation in Southern Westchester County is seeking an accomplished Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager to support and elevate daily kitchen operations.
This confidential opportunity is ideal for a hands-on culinary leader with strong classical technique, attention to detail, and the ability to lead during high-touch service while maintaining the highest standards of execution and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily kitchen operations in a fine dining environment
- Expedite during service and work the line as needed to ensure precision and timing
- Uphold exceptional standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff with a focus on technique and professionalism
- Oversee ordering, inventory management, and food cost controls
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health department standards
- Collaborate on menu execution, specials, and seasonal offerings
- Serve as acting kitchen lead in the absence of the Head Chef
- Contribute to operational systems, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager in a fine dining or upscale culinary setting
- Strong leadership presence with a calm, disciplined approach to service
- Solid understanding of food cost control, inventory, and kitchen systems
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
- Clear ambition to advance into a Head Chef role
