Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night and Day Shifts Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - 22 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred - Epic experience required - Previous travel experience preferred Description: Weekdays and some weekends are expected. Rotating holidays will be part of the schedule. Floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity is required. 36 hours per week with up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period. Estimated patient ratios are 1:1. Skills required include IV start, telemetry, ventilators, Swanz catheter management, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and pulmonary artery line care. All candidates should be experienced with patient management in a cardiovascular intensive care setting. Candidates must possess the ability to provide care for patients on ECMO, manage ventilated patients, and perform central line management. Knowledge and experience in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias are essential. The unit provides care for post-cardiac surgery patients and patients requiring advanced cardiac support devices. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Special procedures may involve care for conditions such as acute respiratory distress, sepsis, and unstable dysrhythmias. Experience with specialized equipment such as ventricular assist devices and temporary pacemakers is required.
