Work Environment\n

This role is designed for remote work, allowing flexibility in managing client schedules while maintaining professional engagement. You will participate in regular team meetings and case consultations through digital platforms, fostering a connected and supportive work environment. While the counselor position primarily targets school-based clients, you may also encounter instances where evening or weekend sessions are required to accommodate families and students' schedules.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' needs, strengths, and challenges, using standardized tools and individual interviews.

• Develop tailored treatment plans that align with school goals and individual client outcomes, continuously reviewing and adjusting as necessary.

• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques to promote effective communication and resolve conflicts.

• Monitor client progress meticulously, providing regular updates to stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and other mental health professionals as appropriate.

• Implement crisis intervention strategies for clients experiencing acute psychological distress or emergencies, ensuring immediate support and safety.

• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Stay informed on the latest research and developments in mental health, participating in continuous education to enhance therapeutic skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically focuses on serving school-aged clients grappling with a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and substance abuse. You will have the opportunity to support not only the students but also their families, providing essential guidance during significant life transitions, such as relationship changes, grief, and other personal challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
