Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) COPD/Respiratory - (MA, CT, VT, RI, NH, ME)

Merck seeks a credentialed Regional Medical Scientific Director to serve as a Medical Science Liaison covering the Northeast region (MA, CT, VT, RI, NH, ME). The role involves bidirectional scientific exchange with healthcare leaders, supporting clinical research initiatives, and providing expertise in COPD and respiratory therapeutics.

Responsibilities

• Develop professional relationships with scientific leaders and conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions on therapeutic areas and company products
• Address scientific inquiries and direct out-of-scope questions to appropriate company resources
• Evaluate investigator-sponsored research alignment with company strategy and scientific merit
• Support clinical trial site identification, initiation visits, and enrollment/retention efforts
• Gather insights on medical and scientific needs of healthcare leaders and patients

Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD credential
• Minimum 3 years relevant COPD/respiratory therapeutic experience beyond terminal degree
• Excellent stakeholder management and peer-to-peer communication skills
• Proficiency with FDA, OIG, HIPAA regulations and pharmaceutical industry guidelines
• Strong organizational ability in dynamic, changing environments
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms
• Ability to travel up to 50% within assigned territory; residency required in region
