Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding role this fall and make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary setting. You’ll work with K-2 students in a cross-categorical classroom, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. This contract position is designed to cover a maternity leave, starting at the beginning of the school year and extending through Christmas break. You’ll enjoy consistent daytime hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm, with an expectation to be present a few minutes before and after the student day. Half days conclude with an 11:30am dismissal, offering occasional schedule flexibility.

Your daily routine will include one uninterrupted 40-minute lunch and a full 50-minute prep period, allowing you to recharge and plan engaging activities. The classroom utilizes AAC iPad devices—particularly TD Snap—so familiarity with these technologies is a plus.

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in a cross-categorical classroom
• Knowledge of assistive technology and communication devices, particularly AAC iPad devices (TD Snap)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive classroom culture

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to K-2 students with diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to ensure each child’s success
• Create and implement individualized education plans
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
