Position Overview - CDL Class B Driver (Templeton, MA)

We are thrilled to present an opening for a CDL Class B Driver within our Commercial team. This position involves operating our bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and installing blasting products for clients at local construction sites, mines, and quarries, while also ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.

This hybrid role comprises approximately 40% driving and 60% physical tasks related to the installation of blasting products. Key responsibilities include:

• Loading products and driving a Class B CDL truck.
• Pulling hoses and operating control systems of manufacturing units.
• Climbing on and off the bulk truck in various weather conditions.
• Delivering high-quality service of bulk explosives to customers while prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Local driving (1-3 hours)
• Early morning starts between 3 AM and 5 AM
• Approximately 10-12 hours of work per day
• Overtime may be required
• Up to 10% overnight travel may be necessary

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking and replenishing fluid levels.
• Safely connect and disconnect trailers.
• Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks.
• Ensure compliance with handling, usage, and storage requirements for raw materials and hazardous goods.
• Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control.
• Immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents.
• Engage in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling is preferred.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations is essential.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Attention to detail and basic math skills for daily inventory management.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks efficiently.

Physical Requirements

• Work environment includes outdoor conditions in various weather.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more of products or materials.
• Capable of loading products, pulling large hoses, filling holes, and climbing on/off the truck.
• Frequent shoveling of gravel and other physical activities throughout the day.
• Engagement in pushing and pulling tasks while operating equipment.
• Regular bending and squatting required.

Required Qualifications

• Possession of a Class B CDL; Class A is a plus.
• Tanker endorsement is preferred.
• Hazmat endorsement is preferred.
• Support for obtaining necessary endorsements will be provided.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Compensation

• Hourly Pay Range: $28-34
• Signing Bonus: $4,500
• (Salary will be determined based on the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment.)
