Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories, which will guide treatment planning.

• Craft and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs and goals of each patient, supporting their journey toward healing.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing innovative techniques to help patients process traumatic experiences and develop effective coping strategies.

• Engage in close collaboration with psychiatrists and other allied health professionals, ensuring integrated care that addresses all facets of the patient's well-being.

• Offer crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, employing immediate therapeutic strategies to assist clients in distress.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and coping skills, empowering them with the tools needed for recovery.

• Ensure comprehensive and confidential documentation of all therapeutic interactions, maintaining adherence to legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in ongoing case consultations, team meetings, and professional development workshops centered on trauma-informed care strategies.

• Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy practices, contributing to the continuous improvement of our service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The patients you will work with at Wisdom Within are primarily trauma survivors, including those experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. These clients come from diverse backgrounds, and many have faced significant emotional and psychological challenges. As a therapist in this role, your expertise will directly contribute to their healing process, helping them navigate their experiences and reclaim their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Strong foundation in trauma-informed approaches and resilience-building methods.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and a non-judgmental demeanor.

• Capability to maintain professionalism and composure in high-pressure situations.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital documentation practices.

• A proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in therapy is preferred, particularly in trauma-focused settings, we value strong therapeutic acumen and specialized skills with trauma-related disorders. You should have direct experience implementing trauma-specific treatment methods and a keen understanding of patients' complex psychological needs.

Compensation and Benefits\n
