Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' histories and current challenges, determining appropriate treatment approaches tailored to individual needs.

• Develop, implement, and periodically review personalized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience, and overall mental well-being.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing and emotional growth.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for patients to process their trauma, share coping strategies, and enhance their healing journey.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure holistic and integrated care for every patient.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring effective stabilization and safety for clients.

• Educate patients and families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources to foster understanding and encourage proactive engagement in treatment.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in compliance with established legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development workshops focused on trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay current with the latest research and clinical developments in trauma therapy, incorporating new knowledge into practice to improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The patients you will serve are primarily trauma survivors, including those experiencing symptoms of PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your work as a therapist will focus on helping them rebuild their lives, develop resilience, and cultivate positive coping strategies in response to their experiences. Your empathetic and non-judgmental approach will play a crucial role in establishing trust and fostering a therapeutic alliance.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Demonstrated expertise in trauma-related disorders and a strong understanding of trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapies, with a solid foundation in evidence-based practices.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, complemented by a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.

• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress scenarios, ensuring patient well-being and safety.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications, facilitating efficient patient documentation.

• Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
