The Nordic Behavioral and Psychological Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team in Augusta, Georgia. As a mental health therapist, you will provide specialized care for clients affected by complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and dissociative disorders.

Work Environment\n

The position is remote, allowing you to work from home while being an integral part of a multidisciplinary team. You will have access to flexible scheduling options to accommodate patient needs while maintaining a balanced work-life dynamic. Our office operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring a structured yet adaptive work environment that prioritizes both therapist and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories, establishing a rapport that facilitates open communication.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans centered on trauma recovery, identifying both short-term and long-term therapeutic goals.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support patients in their healing journeys.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients process their trauma, develop coping strategies, and foster overall emotional well-being.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and community resources to provide holistic, integrated care tailored to the specific needs of patients.

• Respond to crisis situations, providing immediate therapeutic support during trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms, enhancing their understanding and capacity for self-care.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of patient interactions in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
\n
• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development, focusing on the latest research and methodologies in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be supporting individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma. This includes those facing challenges related to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your expertise will aid in helping these individuals navigate their emotional pain, fostering resilience and recovery in a supportive outpatient setting.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a LCSW , LPC , or LMFT in the state of Georgia.
\n
• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on empathy and understanding.
\n
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress situations.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling environment.
\n
• Experience delivering evidence-based trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
