Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 4:1 patient ratio, weekend coverage required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)

Highlights:

• Mixed-acuity Step-Down/PCU unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with general chronic medical conditions
• Med/Surg-experienced travelers may be considered based on experience and unit needs, with core staff supporting PCU-level patients
• First-time travelers welcome; candidates with 1 year of experience will undergo manager review
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Float coverage required within the organization

Requirements:

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or medical/surgical nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current and valid)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, MS/Tele, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, isolation precautions, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor)
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
• Must not be a current employee of the hiring organization; former employees eligible after 6+ months separation
