Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Distributed Systems)

Salary: $79,200 - 209,500 per year Requirements:

• We are seeking 5+ years of experience in distributed cloud engineering, with a background in building production software.
• We need strong networking fundamentals, including L2/L3, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and network security, to support network controller development.
• We are looking for hands-on development experience in Java, Go, or Rust, including service-oriented architectures and secure web services.
• We value deep experience with distributed systems, fault tolerance, algorithms, system reliability, and real-time state management.
• Experience applying machine learning or AI frameworks and techniques to operational or network intelligence challenges is a plus.
• We expect proven cross-team collaboration with multiple cloud platform groups to meet shared and dependent requirements.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are important, along with comfort working in a collaborative, agile engineering environment.

• We design, build, and operate distributed control-plane and observability software for data center and WAN network orchestration.
• We develop algorithms for route calculation, congestion handling, fault isolation, traffic steering, and recovery.
• We create systems that correlate live network and infrastructure signals, detect customer impact, and initiate safe automated responses.
• We architect scalable, fault-tolerant, secure, and highly available services that run reliably at OCI scale.
• We lead complex incident analysis and resolution across distributed systems and real-time network state.
• We maintain clear technical documentation covering architecture, implementation, operating procedures, and system evolution.
• We work closely with cloud platform teams, including compute, networking, search, and storage.
• We contribute to a fast-growing early-stage team and help shape direction while delivering ambitious new initiatives.
