Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms experienced by clients.

• Collaborate closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans, ensuring alignment with their unique needs, goals, and preferences.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions for mood disorders, particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), adjusting approaches as needed to optimize client progress.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment methods, and effective self-care strategies to empower their recovery journey.

• Continuously monitor clients' progress, maintaining open communication and making timely adjustments to treatment plans as required.
\n
• Work in conjunction with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to facilitate integrated, holistic care for clients.
\n
• Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in mental health treatment, using this knowledge to enhance therapeutic approaches.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Participate in case consultations and team meetings, and engage in professional development opportunities to further clinical expertise.

• Act as an advocate for clients, helping to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting awareness of available resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be supporting a diverse client base, including adolescents and adults facing challenges with mood disorders. Our clients come from various backgrounds, requiring a sensitive understanding of cultural factors in treatment approaches. Your expertise will not only support their healing process but also contribute to destigmatizing mental health issues within the community.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a recognized institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York State.
\n
• Proven expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for mood disorders, notably CBT and DBT.
\n
• A strong grasp of psychopharmacology and an ability to collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and other medical professionals involved in client care.

• Documented success in achieving positive outcomes in treating clients with mood disorders.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with a talent for building rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of three years of clinical experience in mental health counseling, particularly working with mood disorders.

• Experience utilizing electronic health record systems to track patient progress and maintain documentation.

Compensation and Benefits\n
