We are seeking a passionate, creative, and detail-oriented Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who takes pride in creating exceptional desserts, pastries, breads, and specialty confections while contributing to an outstanding member dining experience.
Position OverviewThe Pastry Chef is responsible for the daily operation of the pastry department, including production, menu development, quality control, inventory management, and maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and presentation. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and present high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, cakes, cookies, and plated desserts.
- Develop seasonal dessert menus and specialty offerings for à la carte dining, banquets, weddings, and private events.
- Produce custom cakes and desserts for member celebrations.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met daily.
- Maintain proper food safety and sanitation practices in accordance with health regulations.
- Monitor inventory, ordering, and food cost controls.
- Train and mentor pastry team members while fostering a positive work environment.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to enhance the overall dining experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry kitchen.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional pastry experience (private club, hotel, fine dining, or upscale restaurant preferred).
- Strong knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques.
- Experience with artisan breads, chocolates, sugar work, and cake decorating is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative kitchen culture.
