Business Development & Contract Manager | Aerospace & Defense Industry | Southern California A leading aerospace and defense manufacturer is seeking an experienced Business Development & Contract Manager to drive strategic growth initiatives and manage complex commercial and government contracts across a diverse customer portfolio. This is a highly visible position offering the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership, major aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and defense customers while helping shape the future growth of the business. The Opportunity The successful candidate will lead business development efforts within the aerospace and defense sector, identify and secure new opportunities, negotiate high-value agreements, and ensure contractual compliance across a range of customer and government programs. Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and Sales teams, you will play a critical role in balancing commercial growth with contractual and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Drive business development activities and execute growth strategies across aerospace and defense markets. Identify new opportunities and develop relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders. Negotiate and manage commercial and government contracts, including complex terms and conditions. Lead contract negotiations for high-value aerospace and defense programs. Ensure compliance with applicable federal contracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and TINA requirements. Support proposal development, pricing strategies, and commercial negotiations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are effectively communicated and executed. Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitive activity to support strategic decision-making. Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related discipline. Proven experience in business development, contracts management, program management, or commercial leadership within the aerospace and defense sector. Strong knowledge of government contracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and TINA. Experience negotiating commercial agreements and government contracts across multiple contract types. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
