Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Physical Therapist, your main duties will include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients to assess their physical conditions and movements.
• Diagnosing movement dysfunctions and designing personalized treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
• Teaching patients effective therapeutic exercise techniques and ensuring they understand proper form and methodology.
• Administering manual therapies, stimulation, and massage techniques to promote healing and recovery.
• Guiding patients in the use of assistive devices such as walkers or wheelchairs to enhance mobility and independence.
• Documenting patient progress, maintaining accurate records, and adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing assessments.
• Providing advice to patients and their families regarding in-home exercises and treatment options to support continuous recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves a diverse clientele, ranging from young children to older adults, each with unique physical therapy needs. This role will allow you to engage with patients facing various health challenges, including post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, chronic pain management, and mobility limitations. By employing customized therapeutic strategies, you will play a crucial role in facilitating their recovery journey.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective patient interactions and documentation.
• Proficiency in using computer systems for patient record management and communication.
• A flexible mindset, adapting to the varying needs of patients and treatment scenarios.

Preferred Experience

An experience level of at least 2 years in clinical settings is preferred to ensure competency in diagnostic and therapeutic practices. Familiarity with outpatient physical therapy settings will be advantageous, as will experience with the diverse equipment used in therapy applications.
