Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing occupational therapy services in an educational environment near Dearborn, MI. This position supports high school students, fostering their growth and helping them succeed both in and out of the classroom. With a manageable caseload and a compact, accessible group of schools, you’ll make a meaningful impact over the course of the school year.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license (Michigan state)
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric therapy setting preferred
- Strong understanding of high school students’ academic and adaptive needs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Excellent communication and organization skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group occupational therapy sessions for high school students across up to four campuses (all within a 10-minute radius)
- Maintain and update student documentation to support eligibility, progress, and goal attainment
- Develop and adapt interventions to help students access curriculum and participate fully in school activities
- Consult with teachers and families regarding classroom strategies, accommodations, and equipment needs
- Complete necessary documentation for IEP meetings and support ongoing compliance with educational guidelines
- Offer professional insight as part of student support teams
Role Details:
- 10 hours per week
- School hours: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- ASAP start, continuing through end of current school year
- Caseload: 8 high school students (subject to change as needs evolve)
