Work Environment

The ideal candidate will join us onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in Cape Coral, an area noted for its friendly community and picturesque surroundings. This facility is equipped with advanced rehabilitation technologies and spacious treatment areas conducive to hands-on therapy, providing an empowering environment for both therapists and patients. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday, allowing you ample time to engage with your community outside of work.

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Directing and implementing personalized physical therapy treatments to prevent disabilities and relieve pain, thereby enhancing muscle function and restoring maximum capability as per each patient's unique therapy plan.
• Leading a team of physical therapy assistants to ensure the effective application of tailored treatment strategies.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' functional capabilities through diagnostic assessments to determine the need for customized treatment interventions.
• Assessing home environments when necessary to recommend appropriate adaptations that foster increased patient independence during rehabilitation.
• Administering a variety of therapeutic techniques, including manual exercises, traction, and massage, while also guiding patients in self-directed exercises.
• Customizing and adjusting orthotic and prosthetic devices, advising on modifications as needed.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, while ensuring compliance with OASIS documentation standards.
• Participation in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and strategize optimal patient care approaches.
• Providing education and guidance to patients and their families about home exercise regimens and the proper use of aids in their rehabilitation journey.
• Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants in designated phases of therapy, ensuring adherence to state regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will primarily be on orthopedic patients, including those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions that impact musculoskeletal function. This patient population often includes athletes, seniors, and individuals engaged in physical rehabilitation, requiring tailored approaches that address their specific challenges and goals. Your role will significantly influence their recovery process and overall well-being.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is mandatory; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• Current and valid PT licensure in the state of Florida, with a strong commitment to maintaining best practices.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist in either an acute care or home care setting, aligned with state regulations.
• Current CPR certification, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
• Ability to effectively collaborate within interdisciplinary teams while demonstrating outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong advocacy for patient care, alongside a commitment to maintaining clinical excellence and integrity.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with physical therapy modalities relevant to orthopedic rehabilitation is advantageous, particularly in managing comprehensive treatment plans that incorporate innovative therapeutic techniques. A background in community-based settings will also be beneficial, allowing for a deeper understanding of diverse patient needs.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 – 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
