The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing complex accounting activities related to a diverse lease portfolio, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP (including ASC 842), and driving accurate and timely financial reporting. Dext offers strong benefits and is committed to leveraging technology while enabling our employees to grow in a high-performance environment.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Own and execute the end-to-end monthly close process for leasing-related accounts, including preparation, review, and posting of journal entriesPerform detailed account reconciliations with supporting schedules; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerManage lease accounting for a portfolio of contracts, including classification, recognition, modifications, reassessments, and terminations in accordance with ASC 842Prepare analytics and variance explanations for management and support FP&A with financial insightsDevelop, document, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to ensure audit complianceCoordinate with external auditors by preparing audit schedules, responding to inquiries, and supporting testing proceduresPartner with operations, legal, and asset management teams to ensure accurate contract interpretation and accounting treatmentDrive process improvements and automation initiatives within lease accounting and close processesMentor of junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environmentSupport special projects, regulatory reporting, and ad hoc analysis as neededCharacteristics:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial dataHigh level of ownership and accountabilityAbility to prioritize workload and manage multiple deadlinesCollaborative mindset with cross-functional communication skillsContinuous improvement orientation and adaptability to changeHigh ethical standards and commitment to accuracy and integrityExperience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within leasing, financial services, or asset-intensive industriesStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with hands-on application of ASC 842 lease accountingExperience managing or significantly contributing to the month-end and year-end close processesDemonstrated ability to analyze complex transactions and apply technical accounting guidanceAdvanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, data modeling, and reconciliationsStrong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Requirements:Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or actively pursuing certificationPrior experience with lease accounting systems (e.g., LeaseQuery, Visual Lease)Experience with ERP systems such as Sage IntacctSalary Range: $75k - $90k
