Recruitment Number 24-0303 The immediate vacancies are with the Department of Transportation , Airports Division at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport . Salary: $3,900 to $4,933 per month (SR-13, Step C to I). Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors. Drafts non-engineering contracts and specifications, and provides a variety of other services in the preparation and processing of contracts; assists in drafting engineering contracts and specifications; and performs other duties as required. To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements: Legal Authorization to Work Requirement The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. Basic Experience/Education Graduation from high school or equivalent; OR work experience that demonstrated the ability to read, comprehend and apply written directions, or a high degree of verbal skill. This experience may be met from part-time and/or unpaid work. There must, however, be evidence that participation was on a continuous basis, but not necessarily on a full-time normal work basis. Specialized Experience Three (3) years of responsible experience in preparing or processing contracts, specifications and related legal instruments or notices requiring the knowledge and application of pertinent laws, policies and procedures. The applicant's experience must show that they possess the knowledge and the proper application of specification writing, drafting of contracts and legal notices, and contract letting, including but not limited to the advertisement for bids, instructions to bidders, proposals, contract and bond forms. Substitutions Allowed Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply. Federal Criminal History Records Check In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport, must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the Security Identification Display Area ( SIDA ) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within 10 years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years. The cost for the records check will be the applicant's responsibility. Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program The PSLF Program is a federal program that is intended to encourage individuals to work in public service by forgiving the balance of their federal student loans. To qualify, the individual must have made 120 qualifying payments while employed by a qualifying employer.
