Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the unique needs of older adults, incorporating cognitive, emotional, and social evaluations.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and family therapy, addressing issues like depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders.

• Respond to mental health crises, offering immediate support and interventions as required.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, developing resources and strategies to foster understanding and collaboration in treatment.

• Maintain accurate, confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical guidelines, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation.

• Participate in ongoing team meetings, case consultations, and professional development workshops to improve clinical skills and service delivery.

• Stay informed about advancements in geriatric mental health research, adapting best practices into service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on the geriatric population, addressing a spectrum of mental health issues through an individualized lens. You will support older adults facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, cognitive decline, and adjustment to life changes, working empathetically to create safe environments where they feel heard and valued.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current, valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Psychologist in the state of California.

• Demonstrated passion and comprehension of geriatric mental health and associated disorders.

• Experience in providing therapy solutions tailored specifically for elderly clients, and a strong foundation in evidence-based treatment approaches.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating an empathetic approach with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
