Our organization is on the lookout for a part-time (0.8 FTE) pediatrician with a focus on Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics, or a board-certified/board-eligible professional in this specialty, to become a part of the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at Staten Island University Hospital , which serves as a teaching facility for the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.

The ideal applicant will possess a background in general pediatrics, particularly with experience in developmental and behavioral disorders. Additional training will be provided to equip the candidate with the skills necessary to diagnose and manage conditions such as attention deficit disorders, autism spectrum disorders, behavioral challenges, cerebral palsy, genetic conditions (e.g., Down syndrome), as well as sleep and feeding issues, and educational difficulties related to speech, language, and learning.

• The Department of Pediatrics features a 20-bed inpatient unit with nearly 2,000 discharges annually, a 4-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and a state-designated level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The facility handles approximately 3,000 newborn deliveries, 10,000 outpatient faculty practice visits, and 20,000 pediatric emergency department visits each year.
• The team includes one developmental/behavioral pediatrician, two nurse practitioners, and one clinical psychologist, all of whom will assist in training the new hire and collaborate closely with them.
• Responsibilities encompass patient care, oversight of residents and medical students, and involvement in clinical research.
• Access to specialists across various pediatric fields, including Neurology, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, and Genetics, is readily available.
• There are opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with experts in speech and language, audiology, occupational and physical therapy, and neuropsychology. An Early Intervention Program is also accessible for qualifying children.
