Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand the unique needs of children and adolescents, utilizing standardized tools and clinical interviews.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that reflect developmental considerations and involve family dynamics, ensuring all interventions are tailored to the individual.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and family therapy aimed at addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at empowering parents and caregivers to create supportive home environments conducive to their children's mental health.

• Work collaboratively with child psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care, particularly in cases requiring medication management.

• Offer crisis intervention services for children experiencing mental health emergencies, applying de-escalation techniques to stabilize situations.

• Educate families about mental health challenges and available treatment resources, fostering a deeper understanding and involvement in the healing process.

• Maintain up-to-date, confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards using our electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring accuracy and security of patient information.

• Engage actively in team meetings and case consultations to enhance collaborative practice and share insights related to ongoing patient treatment and care strategies.

• Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent psychotherapy, integrating new knowledge into clinical practice and professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses primarily on children and adolescents, addressing a broad spectrum of mental health issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, academic pressures, and behavioral challenges. Our clients range from preschool-aged children to teenagers, and as a therapist, you will help shape their coping strategies, resilience, and overall mental health in collaboration with their families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMFT, or LMHC in New York State.
\n
• A strong theoretical understanding of child and adolescent mental health issues, therapeutic modalities, and evidence-based practices.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and communication.
\n
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, adolescents, and their families with a focus on compassionate care.

• Ability to establish rapport and trust with young clients and their caregivers, employing a child-centered approach.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in providing therapeutic services to children and adolescents.

• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team, particularly in outpatient settings or with child and adolescent populations.

• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and managing mental health emergencies.

Compensation and Benefits\n
