CONTRACT SPECIALIST

Job Duties

You will analyze and evaluate major contracting and purchasing requirements for complex programs, ensuring proposed actions meet mission needs, legal requirements, policies, and established procurement procedures.

You will plan and carry out complex contracting actions, applying procurement laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to develop sound approaches for acquisitions that support program goals and technical requirements.

You will provide expert advice to managers on difficult contracting matters, developing recommendations and solutions that address complex requirements, improve acquisition outcomes, and support timely program decisions.

You will coordinate contracting activities with program officials, technical staff, and other organizations, ensuring required planning, approvals, negotiations, and documentation are completed accurately and on schedule.

You will review completed contracting work for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, identifying problems or risks and recommending corrective actions when necessary.

You will establish work priorities and schedules for assigned contracting activities, monitor progress, and ensure complex procurement actions are completed effectively while meeting program objectives and organizational requirements.
