About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of prior experience required, must have experience in a large, urban hospital License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS, NIH, CPI preferred Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in a Level 1 Academic Medical Center - EPIC charting experience within the last 2 years - Capability to float within scope to meet facility needs Description: This position is for a nurse specializing in medical surgical/telemetry care. The unit consists of 36 beds focusing on the care of medical surgical/telemetry patients. The primary emphasis will be on the orthopedic patient population. Other surgical specialties include surgical oncology, general surgery, gynecology surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Telemetry monitoring is accommodated within this unit. Patient ratios during the day shift are usually 1:5 and 1:6 at night, with some rare occasions of 1:7. Floating within various units to meet staffing needs is expected as part of the role. Candidates must be prepared to work weekends, with specific shift requirements. Travelers will be required to work two-thirds of major holidays. This facility operates as a 100% nicotine-free environment. Candidates must have experience managing drips on all floors. Recent trauma work history is required. All travelers must submit their time-off requests at the time of application. Additional requests for time off may be considered after confirmation.
