About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Transplant Medical/Surgical Telemetry – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 1900-0730. Four 12-hour shifts per week available. Every other weekend and holiday rotation required. 4:1 patient ratio.

• Provide specialized care to post-transplant patients including kidney, pancreas, and liver transplant recipients
• Work with transplant recipients and living donors from across the United States in a highly supportive team environment
• 32-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy
• EPIC electronic medical records system utilized throughout facility
• Collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary transplant team to optimize patient outcomes

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must pass telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria: 100% identification of lethal rhythms, no errors on 3rd degree heart blocks, and 80% overall passing score
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Floating to other units as needed is required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing expertise
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Central line and PICC line management, port access
• Blood product administration and IV insulin protocols
• Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Transplant patient care including management of rejection and complications
• Wound care, surgical drain management, and ostomy care
• BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen administration
• PCA pump management and pain control protocols
